Terms

1. Who you are contracting with
1spot.lol is operated by 1spot.lol .
- legal@1spot.lol — these terms and who we are
- support@1spot.lol — your bids, your money, and complaints
- abuse@1spot.lol — reporting content
Payment and performance. Payment is taken when you bid, by Stripe. Performance — your entry appearing on the board — is conditional on human approval and may never happen. Section 6 says what becomes of your money in every case.
Complaints. Write to support@1spot.lol with your X handle and roughly when you bid. We reply within 5 working days.
2. What the service is, and what your money buys
1spot.lol is a novelty auction board.
What you purchase is a bid — entry into a live auction at a price you choose, at or above the published minimum. You are not purchasing a display position.
- The price is variable. Each bid must clear the current price plus the greater of $1.00 or 10%, so a $10.00 crown takes $11.00 to claim. It is fixed at the moment you commit, and that is all.
- Display is conditional. Your entry becomes a crown only if it is approved and it is the highest live bid. It may be neither.
- While your entry waits for review, your handle and bid amount are shown as a challenger; the entry itself is not.
- A crown is a temporary public display position when won. It is not property, not an investment, not a security, and confers no rights beyond appearing on the board.
3. Who may bid
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract, and you need an X account to sign in. Real money changes hands here, so we do not accept bids from under-18s.
4. How bidding works
Each category runs in rounds. The highest approved bid in a round holds the crown; when the round ends, that entry is retired to the record and the price resets. The minimum next bid is always the current price plus the greater of $1.00 or 10%, enforced by our servers — not merely suggested by the page you are looking at.
Bids are final on submission. There is no editing a bid once placed.
5. When a bid takes effect
Paying does not win a crown. Your bid is recorded when Stripe confirms the payment, and your entry is published only after a person has approved it. This is a term of the contract, not a caveat: you pay before you know whether your content will appear.
6. Money
| What happened | Money back |
|---|---|
| Someone outbid you after your entry was live on the board | None. This is the game. |
| Someone outbid you before your entry was reviewed, so it never appeared | Full |
| A moderator rejected your entry | Full, less the payment processing fee — and always full below $5.00 |
| The round ended before a moderator reached your entry | Full |
| Another bid won while your payment was still completing | Full |
| The round rolled over while your payment was still completing | Full |
Refunds are queued automatically and settle to the card you paid with. Where that fails permanently, a person reconciles it by hand — you do not need to chase us.
7. Cancelling (EU and UK)
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. By ticking the box at checkout you ask us to place your bid immediately and acknowledge that doing so ends that right. We cannot hold a bid back and also let you cancel it: the auction is live, and other people bid against yours the moment it lands.
Nothing here affects rights that cannot lawfully be waived, and Section 6 still applies in full.
8. Your content, and the licence you give us
Your entry stays yours. To show it, we need permission, so you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, re-encode, display and archive your submission on the board and in our own promotion of it.
That licence is bounded, deliberately: we do not sublicense your content to third parties and we do not sell it.
9. The rules are part of these terms
Our content and conduct rules are incorporated here by reference. Breaking them is breaking these terms.
10. Intellectual property
1SPOT.LOL, the wordmark and the site design are ours. Do not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you.
X and the X logo are trademarks of X Corp.; Stripe is a trademark of Stripe, Inc. 1spot.lol is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either.
11. Removal and suspension
We may remove content and suspend accounts for breaking the rules. The money consequence is the rejection row in Section 6 — there is no separate penalty and we do not keep your bid as a fine.
12. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and a crown is entertainment rather than an asset.
Our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and a material change applies to bids placed after it. If you do not accept a change, stop bidding.
